Brown Co. warns to stay off I-41 & I-43 due to slippery conditions

Brown County (WFRV) If you are going anywhere Saturday night be aware that the roads are slippery.

Brown County Public Safety Department is warning drivers to stay off of I-41 and I-43 due to slippery conditions.  They are reporting a number of accidents in the area, saying there are too many calls to count.

The Green Bay Police Department says roads are absolutely horrible. They are dealing with a lot of accidents.  Police say there are several accidents on I-41 from Mason Street to Lombardi Avenue and I-43 from Atkinson Drive to Mason Street. The department says there are very icy conditions on the roads.

The State Patrol reports the right northbound lane on I-43 at Rosecrans Road is closed due to a traffic incident.

According to a special weather statement: Freezing drizzle to linger into this evening. Freezing drizzle combined with light snow earlier in the day will make for slippery travel conditions on untreated roadways through this evening. Be prepared for scattered slippery spots and allow extra time to reach your destination if you plan to travel in the area.
