Brown County Sheriff's Office believes string of burglaries may be connected

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - A series of burglaries in Brown County are currently under investigation by the Brown County Sheriff's Office.

According to officials, the seven daytime residential burglaries and three overnight non-residential burglaries took place over the past two weeks.

The three non-residential burglaries occurred in the Village of Suamico between November 16 and 18, and the seven residential burglaries have occurred since November 18 in the Town of Pittsfield and the Villages of Suamico, Howard, and Hobart.

Officials believe that the daytime burglaries are related to each other, as are the nighttime burglaries, but they do not know yet if the daytime and nighttime events are connected.

The Sheriff's Office also says that the daytime burglaries are similar to other burglaries that have taken place outside of Brown County, and that many of the burglaries have been by forced entry.

Officials say that during the three non-residential burglaries, large items like a generator, power washer, and other tools were taken that would not have been easy to move from the scene.

During the residential burglaries, small valuables were taken from the homes quickly. In one case, the victims were away from home for less than an hour.

The Sheriff's Office asks that Brown County residents stay on the lookout, and report any suspicious activity.
