Congressional candidate Randy Bryce joins 'Fight for $15' rally

MILWAUKEE (WDJT) - Hundreds of people came to the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee Monday to rally for better wages for the American worker.

Chants of "What do we want? $15! And when do we want it? Now!" could be heard throughout the rally.

Union representatives are pushing for a $15 minimum wage.

They also want unions to have more power in the state.

Wisconsin Democratic congressional candidate and union iron worker Randy Bryce says Labor Day is important because it lets people see one another standing up for each other's rights.

"We're fighting just for a minimum wage. This isn't for CEOs to get richer, they're already taken care of, " said Bryce. "This is for the people like me that pack a lunch every day and go to work, and for everybody else that you see around. The hospital workers, fast food workers. Every job has an amount of dignity, and there's no reason people can't feel proud of what they do to contribute to society."

Randy Bryce is running against Paul Ryan in Wisconsin's 2018 congressional election.
