Diocese group heading home after being stranded in East Coast snowstorm

A group from our area visiting the East coast is now headed home after being stranded on their buses on a Pennsylvania turnpike for 24 hours.

More than 150 students and adults  from the Archdiocese of Green Bay headed to Washington D.C. for the 2016 march for life earlier this week.

After the march, the group began to head back to Wisconsin Friday, when the severe weather started.

Their three busses became stranded on a turnpike in Pennsylvania Friday afternoon.

They had to spend the night on the bus, but tell Local 5 News they had plenty of food and water.

While stranded they helped out other motorists who had gotten stuck.

As of 6:30 Saturday evening all three buses were dug out and  back on the road, the group is hoping to be back home by Sunday.
