Eagle Days soar in the Fox Valley

Fox Valley (WFRV) The Fox River Valley is a wintering site for hundreds of eagles.

Throughout the entire month of January Eagle Days Along the Fox will hold a number of events in celebration of the bald eagle- like this one Saturday.

The first wintering eagle along the fox was observed in 1982 during a DNR mid-winter waterfowl survey.

The bald eagle is a symbol of the improved health of the Fox River ecosystem and the communities that have grown around it, "The idea with Eagle Days is not just focusing on eagles, but basically on the whole Fox Fiver area, and ways to preserve it and wildlife that's out there," said Cheryl Root, organizer.

People of all ages are welcome to take part in any and all events to help us celebrate our nation's symbol and the revitalization of the Fox River ecosystem.
