Early-morning apartment fire sends four to hospital

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Four people were sent to the hospital after being injured in an early morning apartment fire in Green Bay.

The structure fire occurred on the 1300 block of Taylor Street.

Fire crews say they arrived on scene to find black smoke coming from the door of the building.

21 people were reportedly inside at the time of the fire. Two children and two adults were taken by ambulance to the hospital, and four others were treated for smoke inhalation on scene.

Officials say there is fire damage in the basement of the building and smoke damage in the first and second floor hallways, but that the living units will be unihabitable for some time.

The Red Cross is helping those displaced find a place to stay.
