Family-owned newspaper in Marion looking to sell

After more than 100 years of being a family-owned newspaper, The Marion Advertiser is now for sale.

Dan Brandenburg and his wife, have been owners of the newspaper company for the past 32 years, the company has been in Dan's family since 1895.

In February Dan was diagnosed with cancer, something that he says has not slowed him down, but now the long time newspaper owner says he wants to take time to appreciate the community that he has told so many stories for, and also take a little time for himself and his family.

The Brandenburg's say they take great pride in the community they live in and the people they have had the pleasure of working for. The paper has over 1,900  subscribers and the paper covers areas like Shawano and Waupaca counties.

The owners say they are looking for someone to buy their company that will carry out the same values they have when it comes to telling stories in the community. The owners says they are looking for a dedicated and loyal buyer to continue the legacy of the paper.

The Brandenburg's say they will stay on and help train the new owners with all they need to know until they are comfortable with the production aspect of the newspapers as well as the community.
