FOND DU LAC (WFRV) - The Fond du Lac Fire Department is encouraging builders and homeowners to be pro-active when it comes to fire protection by installing smoke detectors and sprinkler systems.
Sprinkler systems have been added to the last three Habitat for Humanity Homes in Fond du Lac. The fire chief says a sprinkler system should be required in all new construction. The system for a 1,200 square foot home cost just over $3,000
Maryland, California and Minnesota all require new construction to have sprinkler systems.
