Green Bay Alderman has plans for westside neighborhood

GREEN BAY, Wis. -      Alderman Chris Wery grew up on the Westside of Green Bay and remembers when this lot off of  12th Street was railroad track.

"I grew up two blocks away and you'd always hear the trains crossing the street, loading and unloading, it was a vivid memory for me," Alderman Chris Wery said.

Part of this now blighted lot is below the Ashland Avenue overpass. .

" I see great potential here. We can we connect the west side trail a couple miles of it," Wery said.

According to Wery Green Bay City Council has given permission to move forward and take the next steps.

"Yes council has approved us moving forward with approaching Canadian National because they own it so we would need to approach them," Wery said.

Wery would like to have a serious discussion on it later this year .
