Green Bay Police allocate safe spot to exchange online purchases

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Good news for anyone purchasing items over the internet: the Green Bay Police Department has created an "Internet Purchase Exchange Location," and they're encouraging all residents to use the spot when purchasing or selling items online.

The parking lot of the East Side Community Policing Center will be a designated location for residents to meet potential buyers or sellers for items purchased online.

While Green Bay is a safe city, the police department is always looking for ways to improve safety, and the location is a safe, well-lit, monitored area, so it improves the security of in-person transactions.

The parking lot is adjacent to 315 South Baird Street, and it's under video surveillance 24 hours a day.

The video surveillance recordings can retrieved and utilized if the legitimacy of a transaction is ever questioned.

The location is up and running, and is open for the public to use at any time.
