Habitat for Humanity volunteers build houses in Green Bay

Green Bay - Habitat for Humanity has built more than 100 homes in the Green Bay since the organization was created in 1987, they have a vision to create a world where everyone has a home to call their own.

The organization couldn't do much without the driving engine and the back bone of these projects, the hard working volunteers who give up their time to help in our community.

"It's a great feeling to be able to help someone and understand that there are a lot of people in the community that are less fortunate," said Jordan Rankle who was one of two volunteers from the company LaForce in Green Bay.

While some of the volunteers have years of experience, some are brand new and anybody can help build these houses.

However, constructing a home comes with challenges and takes a lot of problem solving.

Habitat for Humanity is also fortunate to have the support of local construction crews and while they start by building a strong foundation, it gives volunteers the opportunity to take the next step and today they were assembling the frame.

The plan is to build five houses on Western Avenue in Green Bay, Habitat for Humanity is out working every Thursday and they are always looking for more volunteers.
