Lane closures begin on I-43 in Brown, Manitowoc counties

Construction begins Monday on I-43 in Brown and Manitowoc counties.

Single lane closures will begin on I-43 in Brown County between Highway 96 and WIS-172 so crews can resurface the highway and replace the County MM overpass.

Also in Manitowoc county, crews will be resurfacing the road and working on bridges on I-43 between Silver Creek Road and Point Creek Road.

The work will close one lane of traffic for both  northbound and southbound on I-43. The construction on both is expected to last until November.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is also putting special enforcement zones along I-43 during the project to keep drivers and workers safe during construction.

They want to remind drivers that using your phone while driving is illegal and the fines double in work zones.
