Local florists celebrate "Petal it Forward Day"

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Wednesday is "Petal it Forward" day in Green Bay, and Schroeder's Flowers will be giving away bouquets of flowers at select locations throughout the city.

Each recipient will receive not one, but two floral bouquets, one for themselves, and one to share with a loved one.

Schroeder's will be giving away the flowers at the Prevea Health Center on 1821 South Webster Avenue at 7:30 a.m, the Allouez Cafe and the Bellin Health Business Office, both at 2020 South Webster Avenue at 8 a.m, and The Village Grill on 801 Hoffman Road at 11:30 a.m.

In Appleton, Memorial Flowers will be handing out hundred of flowers to busy commuters to help brighten their week.

Both of these events are being done in partnership with the Society of American Florists.

Over 200 florists across the country are going to be celebrating "Petal it Forward" day within their communities.

It's in response to data released by the S.A.F. showing the positive emotional benefits of flowers, and is a way of demonstrating the special joy that flowers bring to anyone, on any occasion, any day of the year.
