Man arrested after accidental shooting in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. - One man is in jail after an accidental shooting in Green Bay.

Police say around 1:30 PM Tuesday afternoon, a 23-year-old woman entered Bellin ER with a gunshot wound to the back.

The woman told police she was in the area of Plymouth and Fisk when someone shot her, but had no idea who, what or how it happened.

After an investigation, officers determined she was lying and was shot by someone she knew who was in the backseat of her car while she was driving.

Police say he accidentally shot her while playing with the gun.

Officers located a vehicle they believed was involved on West Walnut St within the hour of the victim walking into the hospital.

Justin Hutcherson, 17, was arrested and charged with first degree reckless injury and possession of dangerous weapon by a person under 18.

He is expected in court Wednesday afternoon.
