Man charged with sexually assaulting horse back in court

MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. - UPDATE: Sterling Rachwal has entered "Not Guilty" pleas to both charges he faces in Manitowoc County.

A jury trial has been set for December 14, 2017, with a pre-trial conference set for December 1.

He is expected in Brown County Circuit Court on September 12 for a pre-trial conference on a similar charge.

A Wisconsin man with a lengthy criminal history regarding animals will be in court Wednesday.

Sterling Rachwal is set to have a plea date in Manitowoc County Court Wednesday afternoon on charges of intentionally mistreating animals and disorderly conduct. 

He faces similar charges in Brown County.

In both counties, Rachwal is accused of sexually assaulting a horse.

Rachwal has faced similar charges over the years, dating back to 1993, in Monroe, Waupaca, and Fond du Lac counties.
