Menominee Tribal Police Officer Arrested

KESHENA, Wis. (WFRV) - UPDATE: 39-year-old Basil O'Kimosh Jr. has officially been charged with three felonies by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The charges are: Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Attempted Transfer of Obscene Material to a Child, and Attempted Enticement of a Child.

The officer is accused of sending explicit messages to a 15-year-old through SnapChat and Facebook Messanger.

Police officials say O'Kimosh was immediately fired Thursday, following his arrest.


Menominee Tribal Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations conducted an undercover operation on Wednesday with the guidance of the United States Attorney's Office resulting in the arrest of a Menominee Tribal Police Officer. 

Information was received on October 29, 2017 that a Menominee Tribal Police Officer could be having inappropriate communication with a 15-year-old juvenile through social media. 

Charges are expected to be filed, and the officer remains in custody.
