Appleton, Wis.(WFRV)-Tornado sirens rang throughout Outagamie County at noon Wednesday, but it was only a system check-up.It was done to coincide with testing done by the National Weather Service. Starting this week, the sirens will sound on the first Wednesday of each month in addition to every Saturday. Besides maintenance upkeep, the tests should remind residents to re-visit their emergency plans.
The County's siren system has been upgrades since it did not sound during the August tornado season in 2013.
