Overnight Fire Damages Home in Ashwaubenon

Nobody was home at the time of the fire

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - One person is without a place to stay after a house fire broke out at 965 Duchateau Lane on Tuesday around 11:40 p.m. 

Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department says the first officer on scene found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home. Officers did a search of the home and found nobody inside. They were later informed by neighbors that the owner was not home and out of the state at the time of the fire. 

Crews were on scene until 3:00 a.m. Wednesday  putting out hot spots. 

The homeowner will be displaced due to the extent of the fire damage. There's no word on what caused the fire, and the scene has been turned over to te Brown County Fire Investigation Task Force.
