Persons identified after deadly Dodge County crash

Driver failed to stop at intersection

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. - Early Saturday, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a vehicle crash on Cth W at the intersection of Cth A in the Township of Oak Grove, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigations showed that Chad Sorenson, a 48-year-old man from Waukesha, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus westbound on Cth W. As he approached the stop sign at the intersection, he failed to stop.

The Focus continued into the intersection, colliding with a 2002 Ford SUV driven by 34-year-old Joelean Parsley Gilbert of Juneau, WI.

Sorenson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital. He was then immediately flown by Medflight to UW Hospital in Madison. Sorenson died a short time later.

Parsley Gilbert was transported to Beaver Dam hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
