Red Arrow Park rededicated

Manitowoc (WFRV) Red Arrow Park in Manitowoc was rededicated Saturday

The Wisconsin Army National Guard's 32nd 'Red Arrow' Infantry Brigade has an armory in Manitowoc.

The park- which was dedicated in the brigade's honor- had fallen into disrepair.

So a few years ago- the Friends of the Red Arrow Group, Inc. was formed to beautify it.

Saturday their hard work was shown off to the public with the pomp and circumstance it deserves, "People love this park they saw it deteriorate over the years a little bit and now it's coming back and the true meaning of the park being Red Arrow is not only a place where people can enjoy the lake and the park itself but they know the history of the 32nd Division and why and why this was named red arrow," explained Dennis Hardy, member, Friends of Red Arrow, Inc.

The Red Arrow Brigade was deployed in the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Iraq and Afghanistan.
