St. Norbert College women's basketball team unable to compete in next 10 games

DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - The St. Norbert College women's basketball team will not be able to participate in its next 10 games.

This comes after a violation of institutional policy during an on-campus alcohol-related incident that involved a number of players.

The decision was made by the St. Norbert College student judicial review process, and suspends all involved players for 10 games.

According to the school, the suspension is effective immediately, and will run through January 24.

In addition to the suspension, St. Norbert College is also ineligible for the Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Tournament and regular-season championship because the team will not be able to play a full conference schedule as a result of a situation within the institution's control.

Practice and other team functions will continue before the team resumes its season on January 27 at Cornell (Iowa) College.
