Menasha, Wis.(WFRV)- Day two of the 2014 sturgeon season was a huge success and the upriver lakes are almost at their quota, which will cut the season short.
398 sturgeon were harvested on Sunday. That's about half the size of Saturday's harvest. The season on Lake Winnebago will likely go for several more days. As for the upriver lakes, the season would have ended on Sunday if one more adult female sturgeon had been harvested. That season is scheduled to ed at 1 p.m. Monday. 319 fish have already been harvested there from just 469 license holders.
