Suspicious fire in Princeton being investigated as homicide

Person of interest taken into custody

Princeton (WFRV) Officials in Green Lake County say the death of a person found inside a suspicious house fire in Princeton on Monday is now being called a homicide.

At a Press conference Saturday afternoon the Princeton Police Department says based on preliminary autopsy findings the death is being treated and investigated as a homicide.

The Green Lake County Coroner's Office has not released the final results of the autopsy or the victim's name. Officials say once a positive identification of the victim has been made, next of kin will be contacted.

Officials say a person of interest was taken into custody by special agents with the United States Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and other State of Florida authorities.

The fire broke out on March 13th at a home on South Farmer Street just before 1 am.
