We Energies employees on their way to Puerto Rico

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Dozens of field employees from WE Energies and Wisconsin Public Service are on their way to Puerto Rico tonight.

The employees, including some from our area, left Mitchell International Airport this morning to help make repairs to the power grid on the island that was devastated by Hurricane Maria back in September.

Months later, as much as 40 percent of the island is still without power.

About 55 workers from both companies left today for Puerto Rico.

The workers are expected to spend about six weeks on the island making repairs.
