Wisconsin misses budget deadline

It's the start of the fiscal year for most states, but lawmakers and Governor Scott Walker have yet to enact a new state budget.

Wisconsin is one of eleven states without a budget in place by the July 1st deadline.

That means that spending levels from the previous two-year budget will carry over, enabling state agencies to keep operating.

But if the budget stalemate continues, it could delay projects, particularly road construction.

November 1st is the next target date before experts say things start to get more serious.
