APPLETON, Wis. - A bit of Hollywood flair came to the Fox Cities Wednesday night for the red carpet premiere of the thriller film "Wraith" at the Marcus Hollywood theater in Appleton.
The supernatural thriller was inspired by a local ghost story.
In the film,a family suddenly discovers a ghost-like presence trying to communicate with them after living in an old mansion for almost 10 years.
Director Michael O. Sajbel is an Appleton native who was inspired by area folklore and auditioned and cast many local actors for parts in the film, including several girls to play key roles.
"The Fox Valley's rich history was the perfect backdrop for the story I wanted to tell with Wraith, and the community is essentially a character in the film," Sajbel said. "Viewers will be on the edge of their seats wondering what the Wraith's motives are, but I think they'll also enjoy seeing places they pass by in everyday life getting the Hollywood treatment on the big screen."
"Wraith" will premiere publicly on Friday at Marcus Hollywood Cinema. The show times are Noon, 2:25 PM, 4:50 PM, 7:15 PM and 9:40 PM.
