APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - Year two of Mile of Music is officially in the books.

Organizers say it was another successful year. This year, 220 bands were involved, playing more than 6,00 shows in Appleton.

Organizers say anticipation was high going into this year's festival. more venues and musicians were added, and they saw a huge response from festival goers as a result.

"All of our lead venues saw some really good numbers, all of our lead venues were extremely busy all weekend long," Mile of Music's director Dave Willems says. "So the crowd was significantly larger than last year which was a really really good year from last year so we're excited about the momentum that we've built."

The nice weather we saw this weekend helped. Willems says festival organizers are already examining this year's festival to find way to improve it.
