NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) - A Neenah business leader has announced that he's running for a seat in the State Assembly.

Republican Mike Rohrkaste is looking to replace Dean Kaufert in the 55th Wisconsin Assembly District.

Kaufert is giving up his seat to fulfill his duties as Neenah's new mayor.

Rohrkaste says he has the experience to make a difference.

"This is now an open seat," he says, "it's an opportunity for me to take the experience I have and really to serve the residents of the 55th district."

Rohrkaste is squaring off against five other Republican candidates and one Democrat for the seat.
