2013 was a big year for the Fox Cities PAC, bringing in hit after hit and the venues 2,000,000 patron. Thursday night, 800 season ticket holders got a glimpse of what's in store for next year. At the top of the list: The Book of Mormon, joined by Jersey Boys, Dirty Dancing, Once, and Mamma Mia.
"For us it's better than Christmas," says Executive Vice President Maria Van Laanen. "We work so hard to make sure we're listening to our audiences and paying attention to what shows they're talking about. We watch their attendance habits to make sure we're bringing the shows that we really think they're going to enjoy. And it's so fulfilling when you get to announce the season, and hear that reaction and know that you did it."
Among the attendees at the unveiling, Nancy Chybowski, a first-year season ticket holder.
"There wasn't any that I was disappointed in," she said afterward. "It truly is going to be a great season."
The center generates nearly $18,000,000 in economic activity each year, and officials say it's season ticket holders like Chybowski, that get the attention of big name producers on Broadway.
"The fact that our audiences are so loyal to the performances by committing to those season ticket packages, helps guarantee that we're going to continue to bring the best Broadway and live performing artists from all over the world right here to the Fox Cities," said Van Laanen.
The Book of Mormon kicks off the season Sept 16-21, 2014.
