GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - A local men and boys mentorship program is getting a boost from our Commander-in-Chief.

President Obama's new initiative "My Brother's Keeper" was announced today. It's designed to provide federal support for local programs like "My Brother's Keeper" in Green Bay. The program helps young men and boys reach their full potential in their community.

Harry Sydney heads "My Brother's Keeper in Green Bay, and says it's validation that the president is recognizing the problems he sees everyday. President Obama says the initiative is just part of his 2014 year of action. The federal task force will also create a website where local programs can collaborate and share their ideas.
