Police arrest former officer on sexual assault charges

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - Police are investigating a sexual assault case regarding a former police officer.

According to the Appleton Police Department, the incident happened back in 2003.

Police say the victim, now an adult, reported being assaulted by a man who was 29-30 years old at the time.

40-year-old Kirk Chapman is being held in Outagamie County Jail on a charge of repeated acts of 2nd degree sexual assault of a child.

He is currently facing unrelated sexual assault charges in Wyoming, where he was a former police officer.
