TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) - A 28-year-old Town of Menasha man was taken into custody over the weekend after police say he was armed with knives.

Police say the man threatened his wife on Saturday while stabbing a board.

The man also said he was not coming out of the house and that he wanted the officers to shoot him.

Officers were able to confront the man who they say was armed with two large knives.

After several minutes of negotiations, the man dropped the knives but continued to be confrontational toward the officers.

Not knowing if the man was still armed, an officer deployed two bean bag rounds and took him into custody.

The man is being refereed on charges of Recklessly Endangering Safety, Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct.
