Reports: Packers, Shields agree to muti-year deal

- It appears Sam Shields won't be hitting the open market after all.

The cornerback will be staying in Green Bay, having agreed to a new contract with the Packers.  Shields and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, each tweeted the news on Saturday evening.

According to multiple reports, the deal is for 4 years and worth up to $39 million, with a $12.5 million signing bonus.

Shields was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2010, and ended up being a key member of Green Bay's defense on their run to a Super Bowl championship.  He was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday.
