BELLEVUE, Wis. (WFRV) - A relatively new division at a local law enforcement agency is continuing its quest to curb internet crimes against children.

On Tuesday, the Brown County Sheriff's Office arrested two men in separate investigations. Darryl Ripkoski, 28, of Bellevue and Jon Vangheem, 42, of De Pere.

Both men appeared in Brown County court Wednesday afternoon and were each facing multiple counts of possession of child pornography. They were arrested after two separate undercover operations by the sheriff's office. Officials said the investigations took place over a two month period, in which both men allegedly distributed internet files containing child pornography to undercover officers.

These are the latest arrests from the county's forensic computers unit, which aims to crack down on internet crimes.

"We get tips from the public also specific cases," explained Lt. Jim Valley. "We investigate those and we also go out on the internet and we find people who are interested and distributing this type of material."

Since starting back in January, the unit has made more than a dozen arrests.

Both men are being held on $40,000 cash bonds.
