The past two weeks the Packers have entertained fans with amazing, come from behind wins. Today had similar twists and turns but in the end, Green Bay's rally fell short.

“We felt like till the very end, with especially how this season's going, coming off last week, that these are the kind of games that we've been in and we planned on winning and that's why it’s so tough to let that one get away, because we felt like, especially with all the craziness back and forth, that we were going to come out on top,” linebacker A.J. Hawk explained.

Late in the third, Packers down three, Matt Flynn's pass was picked off by Cortez Allen who returned it 40 yards for a Pittsburgh TD, giving the Steelers the 10-point lead. Tight End Andrew Quarless bumped into Flynn as he was throwing, just a case of miscommunication.

“It was what we kind of call a run solution throw, safety was down to our run side so I was taking just the easy one on one matchup to the receiver. I gotta do a better job of understanding where my tight end has to fill according to where his linebacker is and get out of his way,” quarterback Matt Flynn said.

“It’s a run-play first with a pass option so, I just believe it was just a messed up play and I'm anxious to look at it on film,” tight end Andrew Quarless explained.

Late in the 4th, tied up at 31-all, Flynn ran and fumbled the ball at Green Bay's own 10 yard line. The turnover translated into the go-ahead touchdown.

“It's third down, took off running, knew I had to go for the first down, couldn't slide or anything like that. My plan was to try and split those guys and dive forward as hard as I could, Troy made a good play and I gotta protect the ball,” Flynn said.

Down a touchdown with 1:25 to play, Green bay found new life when Micah Hyde returned the kick-off 70 yards to put the Packers in field position, but they couldn't finish the drill.

“Kinda felt like we knew we were going to pull it off. We got the good return and we were like ‘ok yeah this is about to happen’ but we just came up short man. It's the NFL so sometimes the ball bounces your way, sometimes it doesn't,” defensive tackle Ryan Pickett weighed in.
