The defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox were swept in their 2014 home-opening series by the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Brewers (4-2) completed the three-game sweep with a 4-0 victory on Sunday at Fenway Park. Yovani Gallardo tossed 6 2/3 innings to pick up his second win in as many starts. Gallardo has thrown 12 2/3 scoreless innings thus far in 2014.
Zach Duke and Tyler Thornburg finished the game out of the bullpen. At the plate, Mark Reynolds, Jeff Bianchi and Aramis Ramirez each drove in runs for the Brewers.
Milwaukee was scheduled to face Philadelphia on Monday afternoon in the Phillies' home opener. That game has been postponed due to expected inclement weather. The two teams will now open their series on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00.
