It was another tough loss for Milwaukee in Cincinnati. Dating back to the start of the 2012 season, the Brewers are now 2-11 on the Reds' home turf.
Cincinnati jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, before Scooter Gennett hit his first major league home run in the top of the third to draw Milwaukee within a run at 2-1.
It was 3-2 in the top of the 8th when Martin Maldonado smacked a solo homer off Reds starter Bronson Arroyo to tie the game. It stayed that way until the 10th when Bruce hit is walk-off homer off Brewers reliever Burke Badenhop.
The bad news didn't end there for Milwaukee. After the game they announced that Ryan Braun would be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a thumb contusion. Braun hasn't played since Sunday.
The move is retroactive to June 10th, meaning Braun could return as early as June 25th. Caleb Gindl was called up from AAA Nashville to take Braun's spot on the roster. Gindl will make his major league debut the first time he sees action for Milwaukee.
The Brewers and Reds will resume their series Saturday afternoon at 3:10 p.m.
