The 2014 baseball season is here, and the Milwaukee Brewers had a victorious start to the campaign.

The Brewers shut out the Atlanta Braves, 2-0, on Monday afternoon at Miller Park.

Yovani Gallardo tossed six strong innings for Milwaukee, picking up his first career opening day victory.

Aramis Ramirez drove in the Brewers only two runs with a double in the fourth inning.  Ryan Braun returned for Milwaukee after missing most of last season with a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.  Braun was 1-4 with a run scored.

Francisco Rodriguez picked up the save for the Brewers.  Normal closer Jim Henderson will work his way back over the course of the season, according to manager Ron Roenicke.

The Brewers will continue their series with the Braves on Tuesday night at 7:10 at Miller Park.
