After six seasons in Milwaukee, Buzz Williams decided to leave Marquette on Friday to accept the head coaching job at Virginia Tech.

The move was a bit of a surprising one, as Williams had turned down overtures from other programs in recent years, but reportedly the reduction in stature of the Big East and disagreement with administration led Williams to look elsewhere.

Now, what's next for Marquette?

A name which has surfaced is Ben Howland, former coach at Pittsburgh and UCLA.  Howland led the Bruins to a pair of Final Fours but was fired after last season.

Would Green Bay's Brian Wardle get a call?  He is one of Marquette's all-time leading scorers and won a Horizon League regular season title with the Phoenix this year.  Other possible candidates could include De Pere native and Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk, who is a former Marquette assistant and Green Bay head coach.
