Cobb, who missed last Friday's preseason opener with the Arizona Cardinals due to a biceps injury, participated in his first full-padded workout since returning, and while he was limited, he was noticably grimacing at the end of practice. Cobb reassured the injury isn't a long-term issue, but said he may need to do a better job communicating with the medical staff exactly what his level of pain really is.
It was the full-squad's first padded workout since Friday's game, and the energy was a bit lackluster through the first half of the workout. Mike McCarthy angerly re-started the team run period after a fumbled snap by Graham Harrell, and that seemed to be the energy spark the team needed. McCarthy liked the tempo of practice following that point.
Eddie Lacy returned to action for the first time in a week after going through a hamstring injury. Much like fellow running back DuJuan Harris, McCarthy held Lacy out of the team periods to ease him back.
The kicking competition heated up once again, with newly-retired Packers all-time leading scorer Ryan Longwell in attendance. Mason Crosby and Giorgio Tavecchio were outstanding, both made all 8 of their field-goal attemps.
The Packers return to Ray Nitschke Field today at 11:15 a.m. for another full-pads workout.
