Brillion Boys Basketball Wins Division 3 State Title

The Brillion Lions have long been known as a football power.  Saturday night, they showed they can play some good basketball as well.

With a 40-35 win over Gale-Etrrick-Trempealeau at the Kohl Center Saturday afternoon, the Lions won their first ever state boys basketball championship.

Trevor Krizenesky scored 10 points to lead Brillion, including 8 in a row in the fourth quarter to push the Lions lead to 10, putting the game effectively out of reach.

Brillion head coach Peter Kittel becomes the second coach in Wisconsin history to win state football and basketball championships.  Kittel has directed the Lions to 3 state football titles in the past decade.
