The Packers are in the middle of OTAs but today the head coach, Packers personnel and players hit the course for the Mike McCarthy Celebrity Open. Heavy showers in the morning pushed tee times back at the Green Bay Country Club, but participants waited out the rain for a terrific cause.

“Just want to thank everybody for being here for the 28th consecutive cystic fibrosis golf outing. This is always an honor for me. Anytime you're in position to give back it’s important to do that and it's something my family takes a lot of pride in,” Mike McCarthy said.

We wanted to know if McCarthy had to pick a scramble roster from his football roster… who would he choose?

“I'd have to go off reputation only, not from personal experience, I know Mason's a very good golfer, he's here today. I haven't played with Aaron, I'm told Aaron's a very good golfer and I'd have to put one of the big guys in there cause I know they play a lot, I don't know who has the best score, but probably one of our offensive lineman."

Of course today is all about mingling with fans and golf lovers alike on hand to help McCarthy with the fight against cystic fibrosis. The participants had the opportunity to small-talk with the head honcho... so what do they ask him????

“Everybody just wants to hear about how the team's doing, that's the 100% - how's the spring going? They want to hear about the rookies, and how are they acclimating to our environment and obviously they want injury updates. The media's trained them well. Sometimes I think they're working for the media, but they just really want to know how the team's doing."

OTAs continue for the Packers on Tuesday. For all of your green and gold news, keep it tuned in to Local 5 Sports!
