(WFRV-TV) - The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. and the Green Bay Packers will make a joint announcement regarding former quarterback Brett Favre Monday, Aug. 4, at 1:30 p.m., in the new Hall of Fame at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The announcement will feature in-person remarks from Packers Hall of Fame Inc. President Perry Kidder and Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.   Bob Harlan, a member of the Packers Hall of Fame Inc. executive committee and chairman emeritus of the Packers, will also speak.   Favre will not be in attendance in person, but will share remarks via phone.

A few weeks ago, Murphy said the Packers would not be retiring Favre's #4 this season, but were hoping to induct him into the Packers Hall of Fame and retire his number before he was eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.  Murphy also said recently, the team was trying to arrange to have their former quarterback back at Lambeau Field for a game sometime this season.
