Braun Scratched, Ramirez Injured in Brewers Loss to Arizona

The Brewers are now dealing with a 1-3 start and injuries to their two best sluggers.
It was supposed to be a fun night at Miller Park with new starter Kyle Lohse making his Milwaukee Brewers debut on the hill.  Lohse was great, but not much else went the Brewers' way.

Milwaukee dropped to 1-3 with a 3-1 loss to Arizona at Miller Park Friday night.

Even more concerning are injuries to Brewers sluggers Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez.  Braun was scratched from the lineup when he experienced neck spasms during batting practice.

Ramirez suffered what the team is calling a sprained knee after sliding into second base in the 4th inning.  It's the same knee Ramirez injured this Spring while also trying to slide into second.  Manager Ron Roenicke said he hoped Braun's injury would force him to miss just one game, while the prognosis is unclear for the Brewers' clean-up hitter Ramirez.

Lohse struck out five of the first six batters he faced in his Brew Crew debut.  He allowed one run and just five hits in six innings of work.

The Diamondbacks took a 3-1 lead on a wild pitch by Mike Gonzalez in the 7th inning that scored two runners.

Jean Segura provided the only offense for Milwaukee, hitting his first career home run in 4th.
