GREEN BAY (WFRV)--
The Green Bay Cellcom Marathon, which starts Sunday at 7 a.m. is the second largest marathon in Wisconsin--drawing more than 13,000 runners from all over the country.
GREEN BAY (WFRV)--"I can't be more excited that I am right now at the cusp of all these races," said Green Bay Cellcom Marathon Director Sean Ryan.
"We have 47 states and Washington D.C. represented and there's a good representation of Canadians every year," said Ryan.
Whether you're running the full 26.2 or 13.1 miles, runners will see some big changes this year including extra water stations and medical tents.
"We thought it was best to over kill and hope that the medical net can handle pretty much any crisis that arises," Ryan said.
In response to the Boston Marathon attacks, organizers have also beefed up security. They've also planned tributes to honor the victims.
Marla Maney/, the Cellcom Marathon Merchandise Director said"We have these bracelets we're selling for a dollar. All the money that we raise are going to the Boston Fund."
Andrea Dalebroux, who is running the half marathon said, "I've done the Boston Marathon twice and I think it's really great that they're doing a tribute to them."
With clear skies and temperatures in the mid 50's at the start of the race, the running conditions will be perfect.
Erin Blozinskim who is running the half marathon, said "My first marathon here it was very windy and last year of course was the heat so I'm hoping the rain will hold and we'll have a beautiful day.
"I'm optimistic this will be our best year ever," said Ryan.
