GB Terrific Teacher receives Presidential Award

A Green Bay area teacher, who had been previously featured as a Channel 5 Terrific Teacher, has received a teaching award from President Obama.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) -- A Green Bay area teacher, who had been previously featured as a Channel 5 Terrific Teacher, has received a teaching award from President Obama. Patricia Agee-Aguayo, a teacher at Danz Elementary School, received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Agee-Aguavo received the award for her teaching of mathematics, and was one of 85 recipients of the award. Winners of the award receive $10,000 from the National Science Foundation to be used at their discretion. They also receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for an awards ceremony which will take place later this year. Agee-Aguayo is the Math Content Leader for primary grades at Danz Elementary School, and has taught there for 17 years, most recently teaching in a dual English/Spanish program.
