Green Bay school district schedule changes

Changes due to the January 28 closure

Due to the cancellation of school on January 28, the Green Bay Area Public School District will make the following school calendar changes:          
 
  • Thursday, March 13, 2014
    • Secondary and K-8 (Aldo and Red Smith) students are now in session all day
    • Elementary students are now in session in AM with the following release times:
§  If normal start is 7:52 a.m., dismissal is 11:40 a.m.
§  If normal start is 7:57 a.m., dismissal is 11:45 a.m.
§  If normal start is 8:12 a.m., dismissal is 12:00 p.m.
§  If normal start is 8:27 a.m., dismissal is 12:15 p.m.
§  If normal start is 8:57 a.m., dismissal is 12:45 p.m.
    • If families have vacation plans that cannot be cancelled, absences will be considered excused per the district’s attendance policy that is used throughout the year. As always, absences must be called in by a parent or guardian.
  • Friday, April 11, 2014: Now an all-day student attendance day (no early release).
  • Friday, May, 9, 2014: Now an all-day student attendance day (no early release).
 
As announced in January, the last student day for middle school students has been moved to Wednesday, June 11, and the last day for high school and elementary students has been moved to Thursday, June 12. If another inclement weather day cancellation is necessary, Friday, June 13 will be added as a student attendance day. 
 
The following are school calendar changes for 4K:
  • Thursday, March 13, 2014: No 4K students in session
  • Tuesday, May 27, 2014: All 4K students in session (both AM and PM)
  • Thursday, May 29, 2014: All 4K students in session (both AM and PM)
  • Wednesday, June 11, 2014: All 4K students in session (both AM and PM)
  • Thursday, June 12, 2014: All 4K students in session (both AM and PM)
 
Beginning Monday, March 3, one minute of instructional time will be added to the end of both the AM and PM sessions each day.
