SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV)-- A man drove off a 100-ft cliff, landing near lake Michigan. He had to be extracted from the vehicle and rescued by boat.

The accident happened around 2p.m. Sunday. Witnesses said they saw a truck driving down Meade avenue, blowing through stop signs and traveling at high speeds.

The truck then jumped the road, driving in between two houses, and over a cliff.

Responders had to repel themselves to the bottom of the cliff in order to treat the man. They extracted him from the vehicle, then had to transport him to higher land by boat.

"We took the patient from the boat on the beach right over to flight for life and they took him to the hospital," said Sheboygan Fire Commander Gary Kolberg.

Kolberg could not elaborate on the man's injuries and said the police department is investigating the crash.
