Oshkosh Police: Body found is Michael Philbin

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV)  According to Oshkosh Police the body of Michael Philbin was pulled from the Fox River Yesterday.

The 21 year old is the son of Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

Michael Philbin was visiting friends at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Philbin attended Ripon College.

After almost two days of searching the Fox River, rescuers recovered his body.

 

It was found at the bottom of the river, along a trail behind the Kolf Center.

 

Around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, a security guard for Axle Tech reported to police that he saw a young man walking across the Fox River and fall through the ice.

 

The man was about 30 to 40 feet out when he went through.

 

Police do not suspect foul play, but they are investigating the incident. 

 

An autopsy is being performed today in Madison.
