Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)- One day after Congressman Petri said he won't run again, possible candidates are already planning a run for his 6th Congressional District seat.
State Representative Duey Stroebel has announced he will run for Congress. Stroebel has been in the State Assembly since 2011 and is a life-long resident of the 6th Congressional District. The seat opened up after Representative Tom Petri announced Friday he is retiring after 35 years in Congress. Petri will make the decision official on Monday at his office in Neenah. State Senator Glenn Grotham has also expressed interest in Petri's seat. Democrats have not announced a candidate yet. The fall primary election is August 12th and the fall general election is November 4th.
